Dunedin Environment Centre Trust is all about growing good things—ideas, connections, and kai! We’re a hub for environmental education, community kōrero, and hands-on conservation projects. Think old-school hippie vibes with a modern twist—our gardens are chemical-free and full of heart. We’re here to help Dunedin embrace sustainable living, one seed at a time.
Join us for a hands-on intro to our gardens and conservation mahi! 🌿
You might find yourself:
Planting veggies and herbs
Prepping and sowing seeds
Tending to seedlings and propagating plants
Maintaining our seed collections
Getting stuck into some good old-fashioned weeding
It’s a great way to connect with nature, meet like-minded folks, and learn heaps along the way!
Requirements
Keen to get your hands dirty
Comfortable with physical tasks
Friendly, respectful, and a team player
Able to uphold our kaupapa and respect all workers on site
Use tools safely and responsibly
👟 Dress Code: Closed-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dusty!
Time commitment
Tuesdays and Thursday’s weekly from 10am - 3pm
