Purpose
Help keep the Gasworks Museum’s small garden tidy by doing light weeding once a month. A simple but valuable role that helps maintain a welcoming heritage site.
Description
The Dunedin Gasworks Museum is a small, volunteer-run industrial heritage museum in South Dunedin.
In their carpark they have a small garden bed that has recently been refreshed and replanted, and is now resplendent with a mixture of small natives. (It also houses a mechanical moa statue and a steam hammer.)
The team at the museum are looking for a volunteer to carry out light weeding and basic tidying of this small garden area, once a month or so. This is a gentle, flexible role that makes a real impact by helping the museum look cared-for and inviting.
Volunteers will gain experience in simple garden maintenance, contribute to the upkeep of a historic community space, and become part of a friendly, supportive museum team.
