Street Collector - Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust
Organisation
Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust
Description
Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust | Te Whare Oranga Ngākau is a Dunedin-based charity providing free, nationwide support across three key areas of suicide response: prevention, intervention, and postvention.
Funds raised through this year’s Street Appeal will directly support vital community mental health initiatives, including the delivery of the safeTALK programme — a four-hour workshop that equips individuals to recognise signs of suicidal thinking and connect people with the help they need. Donations will also fund fully subsidised counselling sessions for tāngata whaiora (people seeking wellness) engaged with our service.
Be a face of hope! Give just 2 hours of your time to collect donations for Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust and support mental health in your community.
As a Street Appeal Collector, volunteers will:
Commit to a 2-hour shift at a designated site
Greet members of the public with a warm, welcoming attitude
Collect donation contributions with a donation bucket, various locations across Dunedin
Hand out awareness resources, ribbons, and stickers
Always work in pairs with another volunteer for support and safety
This is a simple but powerful way to help bring hope and real support to those affected by suicide and mental distress in our communities.
