Purpose
MS Otago offers support, information, advocacy and education to people affected by MS, and related conditions across the Otago region.
Description
The Otago Multiple Sclerosis Society provides support and advocacy for people and their whānau living with MS. To support this work the fundraising committee organises events and fundraisers to raise much needed funds to support this service.
In this role you will be working as a part of the fundraising committee team to support the work of MS Otago to give life changing support to people affected by MS.
As a part of the committee you will:
Learn fundraising skills supported by others in the team who have experience in the field.
Assist in the yearly organisation and implementation of fundraising and events calendar.
Assist in the organisation and running of those events and fundraisers.
This is a team role, team members are allocated specific tasks and support each other to reach their goals.
The fundraising committee meets on the second Thursday of each month at 1pm. Meetings can be attended in person in Dunedin City or via zoom, they welcome applications from people across the Otago region.
Requirements
Ideally you are someone who has great organisation skills, work well in a team and have a great energy.
If you have any experience in fundraising that would be fantastic, they are happy to take on volunteers who have not had previous experience and are keen to learn.
Time commitment
The group meets once a month, and meetings generally run for 1-2 hours. Ideally volunteers would also be available for extra hours during the running of events and fundraisers.
