Purpose
Share your woodwork skills and support group members to create meaningful small woodworking projects in a welcoming, creative workshop.
Description
Stepping Stones, community mental health service fosters connection, creativity, and mental wellbeing through a variety of activities and supportive relationships. Our Thursday woodwork group meets in our workshop where people of all abilities are supported to come together to learn new skills, build confidence, and create meaningful projects.
Volunteering in the woodwork shop is about making a real difference in people’s lives. By sharing skills and offering encouragement, volunteers help group members learn new skills and achieve personal goals. The service is a welcoming space where friendships form and people feel a sense of belonging 🪚🪵
The role requires practical skills to safely and competently complete basic woodwork projects, along with the energy and enthusiasm to build relationships and support participants in reaching their full potential 🔨🛠️
Requirements
Competent and safe 'blokes shed' skills.
Interest in building relationships, teaching, and supporting others.
Friendly, patient, and respectful with good interpersonal skills.
Reliable and able to work as part of a small team.
Time commitment
Thursdays, 3–5 hours per week.
