Description
The Otago Farmers Market is an Authentic Farmers Market. Rain, hail or shine, every Saturday morning of the year, you will find the very best of what the province grows and produces. With up to 65 vendors at peak season, the market is famous for its welcoming ambience, which ensures a good time is had by all.
In this role you will:
Staff/oversee the use of the Waste Station at the Market
You can volunteer with a friend (please add their details into the comment section on the referral)
Interact with the public in a friendly manner
Help the public to make the right choice as to which bin to use
Be standing outside for periods of time
Volunteers will get:
Initial training/induction (they'll show you what to do)
Gloves are supplied
To participate in a lively and much loved community event
Help the environment
Can be a great opportunity for Duke of Edinburgh students to make up there hours
Requirements
Be a 'people person'.
Have good spoken communication skills.
Awareness of environmental issues.
Stamina.
Love of the market.
Reliable.
Conscientious.
Dress code: Tidy warm clothing– water proof
(Strong/comfortable footwear - clean and tidy)
Time commitment
Saturday mornings (8 – 10am or 10-12noon)
