Purpose
A community-run initiative providing access to toys and games for local families, supporting play-based learning and connection. To support the Toy Library’s major annual fundraiser by helping with the production and distribution of its famous handmade chocolate truffles. Funds raised go directly toward purchasing new toys and supporting the library’s operations.
Description
Volunteers will assist with the Truffle Rolling process a fun, social, and hands-on activity where you’ll help make and package chocolate truffles in preparation for sale. You’ll be part of a team working in the Otago Girls High School Food Tech Room, contributing to a long-standing community tradition that helps keep the Toy Library afloat.
Tasks may include:
Rolling and packaging truffles
Supporting setup and cleanup of the workspace
Encouraging others to sign up or place orders
Helping with logistics and distribution if needed
Requirements
No prior experience needed — just a willingness to help and have fun
Great opportunity to bring a friend or whānau member along
Ability to follow basic food handling and hygiene guidelines
Time commitment
Minimum 2-hour shift preferred
Dates: Friday & Saturday, November 14 & 15, 2025
Location: Otago Girls High School Food Technology Room
Additional support with order-taking or promotion is welcome in the lead-up to the event
