Purpose
Dream South D Trust is reviving the Buskers Festival Ōtepoti on 18 October. They’re seeking 8 Stage Coordinators to support performers, keep the event running smoothly, and be part of a vibrant community celebration.
Description
Dream South D Trust is a five-year community-led initiative working to bring positive change to South Dunedin. This year, they are reviving the much-loved Buskers Festival Ōtepoti, a celebration of street performance, music, and creativity. They are on the lookout for 8 Stage Coordinators to help keep things running smoothly, you play a vital role in ensuring performers and audiences alike have a safe and enjoyable experience. You don’t need previous experience - just great communication skills and a passion for supporting local events! 🎭 🎶 🎤 🎪
As a Stage Coordinator you will:
Welcome and direct performers to the correct stage at the right time
Assist with changeovers between acts to keep the schedule flowing
Provide basic support and assistance to performers as needed
Help maintain safe and clear performance areas for the public
Engage positively with festival-goers and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere
On the day, you will:
Arrive by 10:15am for a short training and health & safety briefing
Receive information and support from event organisers throughout your shift
Take breaks, enjoy provided food, and work as part of a supportive team
Option to join the post-event prize giving at The Gasworks Museum
Requirements
This role would suit someone who:
Aged 18 years or older.
Strong communication skills and confidence in speaking with the public.
Great time management.
Friendly and approachable, with a calm attitude.
Comfortable working with people from all walks of life.
A love for live music, performance, and community events a bonus!
Time commitment
Saturday 18 October 2025
10:15am – 2:30pm, including briefing and breaks
