Dunedin City Council's Parks and Recreation Strategy aims that the Dunedin’s communities are more active, more often, in facilities, parks and open spaces that are connected and valued. We support a diverse range of opportunities for volunteers to engage with the environment.

As a Conservation Superstar you will be:

  • Planting

  • Weed control

  • Pest control

  • Track maintenance (walking tracks and bike tracks)

  • There are various opportunities on parks and reserves

  • You will always be working alongside others

Training provided:

  • Each respective conservation project has its own health and safety induction and supervisor

Benefits of volunteering:

  • Previous volunteers report having gained memorable experiences and connections with the landscape and also with those they work alongside

  • You will be helping the environment to thrive while also keeping these precious spaces safe and accessible for the use of all
