Description
Minds Together is a new initiative that was piloted in 2023 in collaboration with Alzheimers Otago. The programme involves uni students pairing up with people with dementia to provide connection and fun while visiting different university departments and chatting over kai. This programme brings people cool people together and provides meaningful interaction and a unique learning experience for everyone involved.
The programme runs on campus during the semester. Each session is two hours long and involves an activity at a university department as well as morning tea with hot drinks and some yum food.
You will be provided training and ongoing support from student leads and Social Impact Studio staff. This role also requires a background check via the Proctor's office.
Time Commitment
2 hours per week during semester, plus 2 hours for training (20 hours total).
In Semester 1 2026 sessions will run on WEDNESDAYS from 10 AM to 12 PM. Throughout the term, there will be 9 sessions (not including the training day).

Session 7: 29 April
Session 8: 6 May
Session 9: 13 May
